[nearly free stuff] in NYC
...but worth every penny!

 AMC/Lowes Movie Theaters
[All flicks before noon on Fridays,
    Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are
nearly half price ($6)! So hold off on that
first-run fanaticism, grab a couple of
extra forte doppios and end your
all-nighter with a cinematic bang for your
    buck.]

 Dave & Buster’s (42nd St)
[1/2 off game play ALL DAY on
Wednesdays, 1/2 off cocktails and beer
    specials during daily 4:30-7:30pm Happy
Hour and “Power Hour” (60 min) of
play for $10 between 4:30-7pm daily.]

 Trinity Place Happy Hour
[While it stinks when the market is down,
there is a silver lining and that lining is
pouring out of TriBeCa’s Trinity Place Bar.
If the market ends in the red you can drown
your stock loss sorrows with ANY drink of
    choice for $3 a piece between 3:30-5pm
daily. That’s almost reason to celebrate a
    recession!]

Regular [free stuff] in NYC

 American Museum of Natural History
[Most all museums have a Pay-What-You-
Wish entrance fee policy...really. I know
they list a Suggested Donation of $20, but
all New Yorkers know that “Suggested”
should be taken literally. Go ahead and
give ‘em a quarter if that’s all you can
    afford...if you’re that broke don’t deprive
yourself of the city’s vast cultural
    amenities, New Yorkers are more
likely to visit several times in a year than a
full-price-paying tourist. So in the end, we’re
pretty sure their expenses are covered if
you bow out of the full price suggestion a
    few times a year.]

bookstores seem to have everything on
backorder but they have actual DVDs (and
not just Hallmark Specials but flicks you’d
normally pay $4.98 for on a rainy Saturday
night). Plus their CD collection puts Virgin

    website collaboration between several TV
    stations offering free downloadable TV
    episodes, workout/exercises videos and a
    fair selection of older movies.]

 Wifi
